Invest in your railroad company and expand it — or you'll be doomed.

The morning sun shines upon the high, rugged peaks that dominate the Iberian Peninsula. Hammers pound away at the iron, battling the harsh, unforgiving terrain to seize every inch of new track. The age of rail is coming to Iberia, but it won't be easy...

In Iberian Gauge, players invest in their railroad company in stock rounds. During operating rounds, each shareholder lays track for their company in order of the shares they purchased. But building in this harsh terrain is costly! By leasing track from other companies, you can reduce costs and continue to expand your own rail network. Failing to expand will cause your stock price to crash, leading to ruin!

Summary of overseas reviews

Iberian Gauge is a railroad construction game that focuses on player strategy and strategy. There are no auctions, and the game starts slowly, but progresses quickly as railroads meet each other and begin renting tracks. At first, the game time may feel longer than it says on the box, but after a few plays, it's expected to be under an hour.

This game is beautifully produced, and the train pieces are smaller than expected, which makes the game compact. There is a lot of interaction during gameplay, and each railroad line has multiple shareholders, which creates a lot of conversation. Each shareholder chooses where to build the railroad, and the mechanics of sharing profits and renting tracks are unique.

Playtime is 60-90 minutes, and even with the maximum number of players of 5 (all new players) it stays well within that time. It's engaging enough that all players discuss strategies and mistakes after the game, and it's a good sign if the game keeps the whole group engaged until the end.

Overall, with fast gameplay and plenty of fun decisions to make, Iberian Gauge is recommended for any railroad game enthusiast.
