Feed the Kraken is a psychological game of concealment and deduction that pits three opposing asymmetric factions, all on the same boat, but each pursuing a different course.
While the loyal crew tries to steer the ship safely to the mainland, pirates secretly plot to steer it towards the Bermuda Triangle, and in the shadows, a crazed cultist plots to awaken the dark master of the depths - the Kraken - and recruit the crew to "save everyone."
The goal of the game is to guide the ship to the final destination desired by your faction, but with players split into three different factions, this is no easy task.
Each round, the ship will move in one of three directions. The course is decided by the Captain, First Officer, and Navigator. The Captain and First Officer decipher ancient navigational charts and give conflicting orders to the Navigator, who makes the final decision. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew drinks rum, gamble, and talks about sea monsters.
After each voyage, the lieutenant and navigator leave their posts and the captain must appoint new officers. Players can freely discuss whether the previous voyage was correct, who should be responsible for the current course, and who should take command next.
It's important to convince your enemies that you're the best choice for your lieutenant or mate. Sometimes you can pull out your guns and openly rebel, becoming the new captain. But how long will that trust last? Depending on your decisions, another mutiny could be just around the corner.
Feed the Kraken is a deep, hidden identity and deduction game set in a beautiful, vintage, nautical world. It can be played by 5-11 players and lasts for approximately 45-90 minutes.
