On Halloween night in 1986, a furious thunderstorm raged as the all-night movie marathon, "Spooktacular Film Festival," reached its climax.

Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck the theater. The electrical circuits overloaded, and 100 years' worth of cinematic monsters, trapped within the silver screen, were unleashed into the real world.

You are one of these monsters. Now is your time to be free and wreak havoc! Terrorize, capture, and devour the unsuspecting movie theater audience. The competition to become the most terrifying monster in history has begun!

In Spooktacular, you choose one of 20 cinematic monsters to play. Each monster has unique abilities and playstyles. The basic rules are simple and easy to learn, and all monster-specific rules are listed on your individual monster board. The rich variety and diverse monster abilities create a different experience every time, making you want to play again and again.

The game progresses over multiple rounds. Players take turns according to the procedures listed on their monster board, after which the turn passes to the player on their left.

During a turn, players perform various actions such as playing cards, adding audience members, moving, scaring or devouring audience members, and utilizing their monster's unique special abilities.

The game ends when any player reaches 50 pointsor when there are no more tickets to be acquired. After that, each player adds up the points listed on the tickets they have acquired, and the player with the most points wins.
