Place items and uncover the rules!
A party game of logic and clever deduction
Things in Rings is a logic-based party game where players take turns placing “Item Cards” into one of three intersecting “Rings” (a Venn diagram) and try to deduce the hidden “Rule Cards” assigned to each ring.
Each turn, the active player becomes the “Guesser.” They choose one card from their hand and place it either inside one of the rings or outside all rings.
However, the rules for each ring are completely hidden—the only one who knows them is the “Clue Giver”!
If the placement is correct, the Guesser continues their turn. If not, they must draw another card. The initial clue comes from the three Item Cards that the Clue Giver places on the board at the beginning of the game.
As the board fills up with cards, more clues emerge. Can you be the first to deduce all three rules and play all the cards from your hand?
Three types of rules
Rule Cards fall into one of the following categories:
- Attribute Rules: Based on physical characteristics such as size, shape, or material.
- Name Rules: Based on linguistic traits such as number of letters, vowels, or consonants.
- Situational Rules: Based on how or when the item is used in everyday life.
